What Is VSAT Testing?

February 5, 2018 by

VSAT Testing

VSAT, or Vital System Assessment Test, refers to a series of tests encompassed by the VSAT. These tests include the sudomotor function, the heart rate variability and the pulse wave velocity. The VSAT testing equipment used is also FDA-compliant.

It is extremely common for medications, therapies, and treatments to be changed once these tests have been performed. Suggestions are also often made for further testing. These additional tests can save lives by taking an individual off a medication that is causing issues, or not working. These tests can also improve the quality of life, health, longevity or symptoms by recommending new supplements, medications or therapies.

The VSAT tests are typically restful, simple and pleasant. It is not uncommon for the patient to fall asleep while the tests are being conducted. The length of the tests are dependent on the medical history of the patient but generally require fifteen to thirty minutes. Most patients who have the VSAT tests, follow up with additional tests. These tests have been classified as preventative. This means they are usually fully covered by all insurance carriers. It is rare for an insurance company to require either a deductible or a co-payment for these particular tests.

The equipment required for these tests was originally extremely large and took up a great deal of space. Due to the expense of the technology, and the complexity of the equipment it was generally found only in the larger medical and research facilities.

As time has passed, the technology for this equipment has been refined, advanced, and miniaturized. The technicians are now able to easily fit most of the necessary equipment inside a couple shoulder bags. Despite the much smaller size of the equipment, the price for this advanced, miniaturized, and fantastic technology is still high. The data collected is often used for research purposes although the patient identification is omitted.

VSAT testing is recommended for many individuals and the benefits are excellent. These tests help individuals ensure they are taking the correct medications for any medical conditions they have. They accurately provide the information necessary for any additional supplements or medications to be recommended for the safety and health of the patient.
