About
A different set of questions
Innovative Medicine has practised functional and integrative medicine in Lafayette for years — treating the cause of chronic symptoms rather than managing them indefinitely.
Why patients end up here
Almost everyone who walks into this office has already been somewhere else. They have had the blood work. They have been told it was normal. They still feel the way they felt.
Sometimes that is because the right test was never run. A thyroid panel that is only TSH will miss a thyroid problem. A fatigue workup that never checks ferritin, B12, vitamin D or fasting insulin will miss the answer more often than it finds it. Sometimes it is because the result was inside the reference range but nowhere near optimal for that person, at that age, with those symptoms.
We take longer, we test wider, and we explain what we find.
How it works
How Functional Medicine Works
Functional medicine isn't about trading one medication for another. It is a different order of operations. We measure first, then we treat exactly what the measurements show.
-
01
A Comprehensive Visit
We start with a review of your health history. We examine your symptoms, timeline, nutrition, sleep patterns, stress, medications and family history. This detailed review allows our providers to identify underlying patterns of health imbalances that are frequently missed in traditional, rushed medical appointments.
-
02
Advanced Testing That Goes Beyond The Standard Panel
Standard thyroid screening often stops at TSH, and traditional hormone panels rarely look at the whole picture. By evaluating thyroid antibodies, free hormones, nutrient status, and key inflammatory and metabolic markers, we get a complete view of your biology. A treatment plan that is built on real, comprehensive data.

03
A Plan You Actually Understand
We explain your results, not just file them away. You will walk away knowing exactly what is out of range, what it means for your body, what we are going to do about it, and a timeline for your recovery.

Re-Evaluate And Adjust
We don't guess—we measure. If your numbers have improved and you feel better, we hold. If your labs remain unchanged, we re-evaluate and adjust. Treating symptoms alone without checking the data is exactly how people end up on therapies they don't need.
What we are, and what we are not
- We are a physician-led medical practice. Dr. Turner is a licensed M.D.
- We work alongside your primary care doctor and specialists, not instead of them.
- We test before we treat, and re-test after.
- We do not promise cures, and we do not sell hope.
- We will tell you when a symptom belongs to another specialty and refer you there.
If that is the kind of care you are looking for, call the office.
